DIRECTOR OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS


ABOUT THE POSITION

Mt. Sierra College is looking for an experienced and motivated professional to assume the office of Director of Admissions. The ideal candidate will be working directly with the college president and closely with the board of directors, the Admission Team, consisted of five full-time admission counselors, conducts comprehensive recruitment activities such as campus visits, phone calls, meeting prospective students in person, open houses, campus tours, social network marketing, and print marketing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide vision, strategic leadership and coordination of all international education programs.
  • Recommend and administer policies, procedures, manuals, guides, and processes in support of international education program operations; implement and monitor compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Lead and direct international student recruitment efforts.
  • Strategize marketing effort with marketing specialist to meet international admissions goal.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Provost and Dean of Academics to facilitate design of curriculum for international programs.
  • Manage the Designated School Official (DSO), and supervise the maintenance of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and all related certification requirements.
  • Direct International Student Advisors on students visa application to include processing for new F-1 visas, work permits (OPT/STEM), extension of status, reinstatement, and reduced course load authorizations, change of status, medical leave and economic hardship employment authorization.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies and new student orientation program.
  • Act as the liaison with the State Department and the Office of Homeland Security.

  • Oversee the Office of Admissions and provide leadership in developing and implementing innovative recruitment strategies and initiatives.
  • Supervise, evaluate and oversee the admission counselors.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the admission operations, including all prospect and application processing; manage the application review process.
  • Plan, direct and analyze recruitment program and other outreach.
  • Coordinate staff training and development.
  • Chair and lead the admission data management team. Supervise all data/survey requests and responses.
  • Preparation and assessment of admission goals, optional use of resources (budget management) and implementation of institutional priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and four years of professional work experience in student recruitment or related experience in small to medium private higher-ed institutions. Two more years of experience leading or directing the work of others. (A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of professional work experience.) International recruitment experience, proficiency in the Spanish and/or Chinese language, skills in marketing, technology, and social media are highly desirable.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT


ABOUT THE POSITION

Mt. Sierra College is looking for an experienced and professional Executive Assistant to assist our Executive. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work under pressure, within deadlines with a variety of people, to meet short deadlines with speed and accuracy yet be diplomatic and tactful, but firm, in the role as “gatekeeper” for the Executive. This opportunity offers an exciting and eye-opening opportunity to travel with the Executive and to learn about academic environment in different parts of the world.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the Executive’s calendar including the scheduling of meetings, offsite appointments, and teleconferences as well as keeping the Executive on track throughout the day with reminders and times of upcoming meetings including and providing the Executive with any meeting materials that are needed ahead of time.
  • Translate all documents from English to Chinese for Executive’s review and approval.
  • Draft and/or edit correspondence, memos, reports, and emails, directly and on behalf of the Executive. This also includes proofreading and summarizing of documents.
  • Prepare for, arrange logistics for, and attend meetings. This includes drafting agendas and meeting summaries prior to the meetings, handling the mail out of meeting material, arranging for any video or teleconferencing needs, and taking and finalizing meeting.
  • Review any invoicing or documents that are submitted to the Executive for signature; ask questions of the submitter if necessary and return anything that is submitted incorrectly to be corrected.
  • Represent Executive during his/her absence. Be the main point-of-contact for Executive to all organization members and external contacts.
  • Handling of general inquiry calls. Become familiar with important callers.
  • Coordinate all of Executive’s travel arrangements (domestic and international) for meetings, site visits and conferences.
  • Keep Executive’s Outlook contacts and distribution lists up to date.
  • Maintain file systems (paper and electronic).
  • Being a resource for questions from staff regarding policies.
  • Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
  • Perform personal errands as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience providing administrative support to Senior Management Staff in an academic environment.
  • Knowledge of higher education and international admissions highly preferred.
  • Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English.

MARKETING SPECIALIST


ABOUT THE POSITION

Mt. Sierra College is looking for a creative team player to join us as our Marketing Specialist. The position offers an exciting opportunity to manage the marketing unit within a private college. It is ideal for anyone who has previous marketing experience, who is social media savvy and is looking for growth opportunity in leadership role. You will develop marketing plans, coordinating production schedules for various events and projects, design publications, promotional materials, and communications, create and design web contents, and develop the overall social media marketing strategies for the College.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the College’s brand and uniqueness to generate inquiries for enrollment.
  • Work collaboratively with college departments and other cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities and formulate marketing plans to promote division/unit.
  • Develop, manage, and execute marketing plans for the College’s website, advertising, promotional events (career and college fairs), campus outreach, social media marketing and public relations functions.
  • Develop marketing calendar for the College and departments.
  • Coordinate the development and production of internal and external publications, promotional materials, and communications, including web-based communications and social media contents; design, edit, and proofread materials as needed.
  • Actively manage the College’s website (content, graphics, and certificates).
  • Review, select, and coordinate efforts of internal staff and third party vendors (such as web developers, copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and bloggers) for advertising and production of promotional deliverables.
  • Develop social media strategies; monitor and contribute to external social media sites and outlets as assigned.
  • Organize and promote open houses and events to generate inquires for enrollment at the college.
  • Evaluate marketing efforts for effectiveness.
  • Manage marketing and promotions budget as required.
  • Research marketing and promotional strategies and make recommendations for changes in media, methods and materials, including recommendations regarding social media tools, sites, and applications.
